U2 is a Dublin, Ireland rock band that consists of Bono, The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). The band got their start in the mid-70s and a few years later was one of the top acts in Europe, due largely to their incredible stage presence. Their first true commercial success came in 1987 when they released 'Joshua Tree', which won two grammy awards and sold over 25 million copies worldwide. Ever since, U2 has existed on the world stage as a band that continues to challenge itself musically, and philanthropically.
